Touring the country in preparation for family visits

The Muhlesteins, Clingers and we all have family coming to Cambodia in the next couple months, so on one of our trip to Battambang to set up new Senior couple apartment, we spent an extra day after working to tour the Province.  This is a photo dump of some of the places we have visited.
Cambodia is a country full of tragedy, it has only been about 40 years where the country suffered genocide regime, we were glad to have visited some of the site and monument that memorize the suffering and pain that this country had gone through!  I am so thankful for the opportunity to be here to help and serve.  Most of all, I am thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ that can bring truth and peace to this land and heal the pain that the people had suffered!

Inside Killing Cave ... see the skulls!

We were told the soldiers would push people down this cave.

Nice view from the killing cave looking down to the city

Bats come out of this cave every night and consume enough insect that save the over 2000 tons of rice, which is enough to feed 21,000 people!

On our way back to the city, this is the first time I see an accident.

A heavily loaded Semi truck toppled over to the side.

God is indeed in the details of our lives

My short trip back to Utah ended up being extended an extra week because Brenda had an emergency 2 week postpartum.  She started hemorrhaging at home, we had to call 911 to take her to the emergency room and waited for 8 hours before they were able to operate on her! When she returned home, she looked so pale!  She probably lost 1000 cc of blood because of retained placenta!

Back track 2 days prior, baby Emma had gotten her tongue tie released and nursed well for two days, then for some reason, she had nursing strike and would not breast-feed!  Brenda was in distress but we could not make baby nurse; knowing how much Brenda really want to breastfeed, I had a prayer asking Heavenly Father’s help, while I know we cannot force agency, even on a little baby, I asked for wisdom to know how to counsel Brenda and ideas to help this little baby.  After using nipple shield, finally we figured out this baby wanted flow, when she sucked, she is very impatient and pulled off when the milk did not appear immediately. We used a syringe pushing some milk into her mouth, then she started feeding again!  It took us two days of working with her before she nursed well again!  Then two days later, Brenda had her emergency! Looking back having the nursing strike ensured that baby can both take the bottle and breastfeed!

Even though Emma is able to breastfeed well, she also caused a lot of pain on Brenda, we were talking about different strategy to help her nipples healed, I was praying for her one night after she almost wants to give up, a thought pops into my head, use APNO, which I had totally forgotten!  We got a prescription for her to use and it kept the discomfort at bay and Brenda was able to continue to breast feed.

In the scripture, Alma 34:24 to 26, we are commented to “ Cry unto him over the crops of your fields, that ye may prosper in them. Cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase. But this is not all; ye must pour out your souls in your closets, and your secret places, and in your wilderness.” I know God has heard my prayers, he knows our needs and our desires and will grant what we ask if we would but pray!  I know this to be true!!
