Our last Transfer

I used to be a cryer as a child and after being teased, I learned to be tough.  At the beginning of our mission, it was tough at each transfer to see Assistant to the President, office elders and LSTL leaves, I would be sad because I felt I have lost one of my kids, moving away from home, then we got used to seeing them go and happy that they come back to visit at the mission home.

This transfer was hard, we sent 4 plus 1 Elders home.  They are valiant servants and have given their best two years to our Heavenly Father, serving and teaching the gospel to anyone that would listen.  One of these elder (Crane) came to Cambodia at the same time with us and we were sad to see him go.  But we know we will see each other again.  The saddest part is that this means our time here in Cambodia is almost coming to an end!

Elder Jacob Christofferson, grandson of Apostle Christofferson.

Elder Tanner Power, he has a big heart!

Words cannot described, you just have to see

One of the perks of being Senior Missionary is that you can have family visit you.  At our last mission in Hong Kong, all the kids and grandchildren were able to come visit, with this mission, because of Covid, restriction prevented them to come during the early part of our mission.  However, we were glad to have Ada and Andrew's family come to visit us for about 10 days.

During their visit, Ada and Andrew took a trip to Thailand so we took the kids to the zoo!

Riding the elephant in the zoo!

The day after the kids left, we have branch Christmas party.  I was able to teach some of the Chinese members how to make mashed potatoes!  We made 7 kilo of potatoes and they were all gone!

The night Ada and Andrew leaves, we went to wedding.  We know Sister Yous when we arrived here in Cambodia.  We waited for 16 months to attend her wedding!  Beautiful decoration but not as beautiful as the bride and groom!

Can you see the family on the Eifel Tower?  This is in Euro Park in one of the subcity of Chbar Ampov.

Siem Reap, Pub Street

Apopo Rat

Day 1 in Siem Reap, we visited the "jungle temple" (Ta Prohm) after Angkor Wat.  I enjoyed this temple much more because it taught me a lesson on faith!  If we could only have faith like a mustard seed, we could move mountains.  In this case, trees growing out of the ground toppling a temple!

This monkey enjoyed the treat that Ted brought with him,  He was just dropping one or two candy on the floor for the monkeys but then they got impatient and jumped up, freeing the bag of candy from Ted's hand and enjoyed a feast of candies!

Angkor Wat, its beautiful sun rise is ever changing, we came in June and now in November, we enjoyed a beautiful view!

This is taken in Angkor Wat where it was said is the center of the Hindu universe!

Before Siem Reap, we drove to Battambang and spent a day there, we rode the Bamboo train and visited a crocodile farm!

Day 1 of Cambodia, we took the Greenhalgh family to visit Kampot, this is a place that is famous for its peppers.  We have a tasting of all the peppers they grow here.  Never knows there is so many different kind of peppers in the world.

Organic soil, using recycle rice husk, burned and intergraded into the soil for fertilizer.
