A short trip home

August 8, 2022 at 1:52 am, we welcomed Emma Faye Crapo, she weighed in at 8 pounds and 20 inches long.  We are so happy for Mason and Brenda.  Brenda was supposed to be induced on Tuesday, but this little girl decided when she likes to come and she did!  We are beyond joy.

When we were thinking of coming to Cambodia, I had promised that I would become back for two weeks when the baby comes, I had purchased a ticket for August 15, and when they find out the doctor wants to induce on August 9, I try changing my ticket but the price keep going up so it is decided I would just come on the 15th as planned.  Then Baby has her own plan!  Here are pictures:

I am so thankful for good children who are willing to help each other.  Alicia went and spent a night helping with feeding and caring for the baby as I would have done.  We kept FaceTiming wherever Brenda needs help with feeling but having Alicia there, she become me!

I left Cambodia traveling with Elder Ken and Sister Merry Jones, who needed to go home because of a sudden death in the family, to Salt Lake.  Our first leg is 5 hours from Phnom Penh to Korea Incheon Airport, an 8 hours layover then an almost 11 hours fight to Seattle then into Salt Lake.

Although it was a long layover in Korea, there were plenty to see and shops to visit.

My last leg of the trip went from Seattle to Salt Lake City.  The last time we went thru immigration in Seattle was in 2018; it was a tiny space but this time, immigration is modern and large as you can see in the picture.  After a short 2 1/2 hour layover, I boarded the plane and arrived Salt Lake!  Then onto the Crapo home and you guessed it, first thing I did was holding this precious, cute baby!!

Immigration in Seattle, all modernized!

Time is going by so fast!

Since my last post a couple months ago, we welcomed 5 new Senior couples to the mission:  Elder Ken and Sister Merry Jones, who oversees temple construction, Elder Ron and Sister Kathryn Larsen, Medical humanitarian in Siem Reap, Elder David and Sister Mckette Allred, who are over communication and Public Affair and Elder Brent and Sister Elaine Muhlestein, medical Humanitarian staying in Phnom Penh, and Elder Preston and Sister Debra Paxman who are being assigned to Kampong Cham.

In a few months, we will have a total of 12 couples here serving either Membership, Leader support under the Mission or humanitarian and welfare projects under the area.  It is a totally different feels in compared to a year ago when there were only 4 couple here.

With more couples, it comes with different challenges.  We have to order 6 extra-new vehicles (on top of the 4 old ones that we have to replace sometimes this year), find new apartments, stocking the apartments with basic supplies and cooking appliances, etc.  We are thankful that all the couples are flexible and excited to serve.  We took the Jones to shopping, showed them around town so when the Allred came (they are staying in the same building, 25 mins away from us), they were able to show them around town.

President Neang and his wife were able to take the couples to the dedication site and host a welcome lunch for these couples.  We stood by the MeKong river which originates from China; amazed at the progress of Cambodian saints had since the dedication of the land by President Gordon B Hinckley.  We are part his prophetic promise as God missionary force.  It is both humbling and exciting to be part of this miracle!

Our last Transfer

I used to be a cryer as a child and after being teased, I learned to be tough.  At the beginning of our mission, it was tough at each transf...
